LAWRENCE D. HASSELER was born in Watertown, New York. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1968, received his B.A. from Syracuse University in 1972, and his J.D. from Syracuse University in 1974. Mr. Hasseler joined the Conboy Law Firm immediately upon completing the bar exam in August 1974 and has been with the firm for more than 40 years.
Mr. Hasseler is the resident partner of the Carthage office and continues to work in the Watertown office as well. He has been active in his community, and in the past has served as President of the Board of Directors of Carthage Area Hospital, the Community Mental Health Association of Jefferson County, Inc. and Hospice of Jefferson County, Inc. He has served as Secretary of the Jefferson County Bar Association for 15 years and as a member of the Board of Directors of Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Rural Healthcare Alliance, the Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce, the Branaugh Memorial Boys' Club, and the Citizens Advisory Board for the Alcoholism Center.
He is presently a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, a member of the Board of Directors of Carthage Area Hospital, Legal Services for Central New York, Inc. and the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc., as well as a member of the Board of Watertown Urban Mission.
Mr. Hasseler has developed a Social Security disability practice and has served as an advocate for hundreds of disabled people. He also handles domestic relations, criminal, estate, and real estate matters and represents several municipalities in Jefferson and Lewis Counties.
When he is not in the office, Larry enjoys walking in the woods with his dog Dozer, watching Cincinnati Reds baseball and Syracuse University basketball, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
